Sanam Saeed recently shared her perspective on the rising divorce rates in Pakistan

Sanam Saeed is widely regarded as one of Pakistan’s most prominent and intellectually engaging stars. Renowned for her choice of thoughtful and meaningful content, she has consistently steered clear of superficiality, earning admiration for her work and distinctive style. Married to actor Mohib Mirza, Sanam leads a contented life, yet she has endured her own trials of sorrow, heartache, and setbacks in the past.

Sanam recently addressed the British Asian Trust, an organization dedicated to supporting mental health initiatives. During an interview with journalist Aamna Haider Isani, the actress shed light on the changing societal landscape and its impact on rising divorce rates in the country. She highlighted the positive strides made in women’s rights, emphasizing how these advancements have empowered women to better protect themselves.

Sanam highlighted the shift in women’s financial independence and awareness of their rights. Unlike in the past, when women often depended on men for financial support and lacked alternative means of assistance, today’s women are more empowered to stand up for themselves. This evolution has led to a rise in divorces, as women are no longer willing to remain in toxic relationships without recourse.
